MONTROSE, Colo. (Sept. 1, 2022) — The Scott Fly Rod Company is pleased to announce their new Wave series of fly rods. Breakthroughs in rod design helped create a new fast-action rod that is equally at home slam fishing the flats, casting fast sinking lines for stripers, or chasing carp and bass at the local park. Wave rods deliver high performance across a wide variety of fishing situations.
The new Scott Wave rods bring together high line speed, exceptional loop control, and point-it-and-it goes-there accuracy. They feel light and lively in hand and respond intuitively to input from the angler. Wave rods easily handle a wide range of line densities and fly sizes, making them ideal tools for pursuing powerful fish in all fresh and saltwater environments. And when pursuits turn into hookups, Wave rods have lifting power to spare, helping keep fish out of structure or the depths.

“Working on the Wave over the past year and a half has been a fun and interesting project,” states Jim Bartschi, president of Scott. “We’ve developed so many innovations in recent years, and we challenged ourselves to incorporate many of those new materials and design approaches into this series. We couldn’t be happier with the results.”
Scott has developed breakthrough fly rod design and materials technologies in recent years, and Wave rods are the direct beneficiaries. You’ll find some of Scott’s most innovative technologies incorporated into the design and construction of Wave rods.
Like every Scott fly rod, Wave rods are lovingly handcrafted in Montrose, Colorado, and are appointed with top-grade components like SiC stripping guides, custom machined aluminum and graphite reel seats, and super grade cork. Wave rods are finished with as much thought as the technology-loaded blank designs.
Scott Wave rods are available in 9-foot, 4-piece models, and in-line weights 6 through 12. Wave rods cost $675 and come with a lifetime warranty.
