The state of Washington is considering taking important action for the health of wild steelhead by creating wild steelhead “gene banks” in the Puget Sound system. By designating certain rivers as “gene banks,” wild steelhead would be able to live, flourish, and spawn without the impact of hatchery fish. We now have until August 13 to comment in support.
