For fly anglers, Louisiana is synonymous with redfish, and Louisiana is not only home to healthy redfish populations, but they also have enormous redfish.
For putting anglers on big redfish, Captain Gregg Arnold is notorious. In fact, Capt. Arnold has put many well-known anglers (ie Conway Bowman and Jim Smith) on world record redfish. (Note: Conway Bowman’s redfish was over 41 pounds!)
South Louisiana is regarded as the “Land of Giants” for good reason, and if in New Orleans for any reason, Capt. Gregg Arnold is easily accessible.
