TURNEFFE ATOLL, BELIZE – April 30, 2026—Turneffe Flats has been honored with the Excellence in Sustainable Tourism Award by the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO). This regional award recognizes Turneffe Flats’ leadership in high-quality, responsible tourism and its commitment to Belize’s environmental future.
CTO judges praised Turneffe Flats’ “exceptional and ongoing commitment to sustainable tourism practices and its leadership in providing responsible tourism experiences in the Caribbean.” Judges were especially impressed by “the strength of the property’s environmental management systems and its broad, practical approach to sustainability.”

Over the past four decades, we have worked to minimize our environmental impact and provide stewardship for Turneffe’s special marine environment.
