Video: Fly Fishing Remote Islands in Central America for Permit (Part 1)

Traveling angler Will Phelps ventured to Nicaragua to take on permit last year. His travels and experience on the flats was documented for a video series. This is part one.

From Will Phelps:

“To me, the ultimate experience in fly fishing is to discover unpressured fish in a new location. In the world of fly angling, a few overlooked destinations exist that aren’t necessarily on the map. This is a story about a location where my friends, Will and Eric, stumbled upon a flats fishery back in 2022. Their destination was a cluster of remote islands off the east coast of Nicaragua. Little did they know, it is a promised land for anglers in search of unpressured black-tailed devils lurking in the shallow water flats. A year later, we are now returning to see if this all holds true.”
