Take Action to Remove Searsville Dam

California is known for having strong runs of steelhead and salmon in the northern corners of the state, but not too long ago, California’s salmon and steelhead ran a bit further south. Steelhead now trickle into the San Francisco Bay area, and one major obstacle to these fish is the Stanford owned Searsville dam that is considered by many to be a “deadbeat dam” that provides very little value. The US Army Corps of Engineers and the CA Department of Water Resources are taking public comments to consider removing the dam. This would be a big win for steelhead.
