Eastern Canada is known for having giant brook trout. In a video from the New Fly Fisher, anglers take on the big brookies of Northern Ontario.
From the New Fly Fisher:
“The Nipigon River in Northern Ontario is home to the world record Brook Trout (1915) and even today you can still catch massive fish there. In this special video, Bill Spicer joins veteran guide Gord Ellis to explore and fish the might Nipigon River, casting streamers for “Coaster” Brook Trout which grow to epic proportions. They also catch some giant “surprise” species as well when swinging a fly! Bill is the guest of Quebec Lodge which is on the shores of the Nipigon River just outside of the small town of Red Rock.”
