The Fly Fishing Film Tour and Cast Hope Present Autumn Fishing Film Night

From Cast Hope:

CHICO, Calif., Aug. 11 — The Fly Fishing Film Tour and Cast Hope present Autumn Fishing Film Night, an online experience featuring two documentary shorts and a musical performance, available August 26-29. Register for the screening and enter a sweepstakes drawing for an array of fishing products at https://flyfilmtour.com/blog/cast-hope-autumn-fishing-film-night/

Looking Upstream tells the story of Cast Hope Founder Ryan Johnston and the impact that fishing has left on his life.  The call of the water and a passion for fly fishing were handed down from his father, and now Johnston passes the gift of the outdoors to the next generation through Cast Hope, an organization that connects kids with fly fishing pros. Johnston’s journey demonstrates how sharing the outdoors can empower tomorrow’s anglers.

“I hope you enjoy the story. This beautiful full-circle adventure took 26 years to complete,” says Johnston. “This film encompasses what fly fishing is all about and how one passionate spark can create a desire to pass on the outdoors to the next generation.”

Chuck Ragan then shares songs and stories from the river during a musical interlude between films. When not touring or recording with Hot Water Music, Ragan guides water in Northern California while contributing to Cast Hope’s mission to get kids outside.

Wrapping up the program, The Arctic details RA Beattie’s inspiration to explore the northern reaches after reading John Gierach’s story about arctic char. Beattie’s own spark led him to the immensely powerful Tree River in Canada’s Nunavut Territory, looking for those massive fish during their short migration.

The Fly Fishing Film Tour and Cast Hope are proud to have the support of Yeti, Simms, Costa, and Off the Grid Studios / Beattie Productions in presenting this online event. Hosted by Hogan Brown, the program is available to stream August 26-29. Click here to learn more, register to watch and enter the sweepstakes.
