From Grundéns:
POULSBO, WASHINGTON (January 20, 2019) – Grundéns, producer of the world’s best fishing apparel and footwear, today announces that Carter Andrews has joined the brand’s ambassador team. Effective immediately, Andrews will exclusively wear Grundéns apparel and footwear while shooting his National Geographic TV Show, The Obsession of Carter Andrews. He will also support Grundéns while traveling and guiding anglers around the world.
“Grundéns is a brand that I’ve long admired and I am proud to begin our professional relationship by integrating their top notch apparel and footwear into my TV show in 2020,” says Carter Andrews. “With a long heritage of providing rugged foul weather gear for commercial fishermen, Grundéns has built a reputation of quality and performance in the fishing industry. In more recent years, they’ve developed an excellent sport fishing collection and the newest product lines, Gore-Tex rain gear and fishing footwear, are what finally convinced me that this is the brand for me. Couple the great product lines with great people and a brand that cares about protecting our fishing resources, and I knew that I want to be a part of this brand and all that is coming in the years ahead.”
Growing up in Tennessee farm country, Carter spent countless hours on the local ponds, and fast became dangerous with a spinning rig and bait-caster. With dreams of becoming a tournament bass angler, he would likely be on the bass circuit today had a fellow angler not put a fly rod in his hand. With a move to Wyoming, he guided the fabled lakes and rivers of the Rocky Mountains for giant trout and smallmouth bass. Carter had an impeccable fly fishing resume, but it was a trip to the Bahamas that introduced him to destination saltwater angling. For the next 20 years, he would help build fishing lodges, train guides, and lead exploratory fishing expeditions across the globe. Carter graced the cover of nearly every fishing magazine in print and grew to be a favored guest on fishing shows.
After years in the Bahamas and Panama, Carter followed his passion to new waters and new species both fresh and saltwater, fly and conventional. Carter now targets the full spectrum of saltwater game fish and does so across the fishing disciplines. Whether trolling bait for Marlin, casting plugs for Dorado, or busting fly tackle on Tuna, Carter continues to fish nearly 300 days annually, and has earned the reputation of being the most complete angler on the water today.
