Nautilus Reels and Sight Line Provisions Limited Edition Redfish Reel Series to Support Texas Conservation

MIAMI (November 18, 2019) — Nautilus Reels has created a limited edition series of reels to support conservation efforts in Texas. Curated with art from Sight Line Provisions, these reels will be offered at Gordy & Sons with proceeds going to the Port Aransas Conservancy.

The Middle Texas Coast currently faces numerous threats, including a massive dredging project, desalination plants discharging waste into the inner bays, the development of the treasured Port Aransas area for the purpose of building a giant tank farm, and inshore loading terminals for super tankers. The Port Aransas Conservancy (PAC) is combating these efforts, and Nautilus Reels, Sight Line Provisions, and Texas guide JT Van Zandt have come together to create a reel that will raise money to support PAC’s work of protecting this ecosystem.

“I am proud to associate with sponsors who support conservation. Nautilus Reels is such a brand,” states JT Van Zandt — an ambassador for Nautilus Reels and Sight Line Provisions. “They are releasing a redfish series reel to be sold exclusively at Gordy & Sons in Houston with all proceeds to benefit Port Aransas Conservancy. With all the challenges facing our natural resources and remaining wild areas throughout the world, it’s hard to select a specific cause to support. From the loss of public lands, water and air quality issues, deforestation, industrial pollution, and plastic-filled seas, one starts by focusing within their own household and in their own backyard. PAC is spearheading the fight to save the water quality of the estuary and the tourism industry of the Middle Texas Coast, which is the place I live and work, and I am proud to support their work.”

For Sight Line Provisions, the collaboration is an important way to raise awareness as well as funds for an important ecological issue. “We are proud to be partnering with Nautilus, JT Van Zandt, and Gordy & Sons to create these Redfish Marsh & Cattails Edition Reels to benefit the Port Aransas Conservancy,” says Edgar Diaz, founder of Sight Line Provisions. “Sight Line Provisions is dedicated to creating products and accessories that connect people to the outdoors, but we also value conservation and protecting our natural resources so that future generations can experience them.”

The Redfish Marsh & Cattails Edition Reels are customized specifically for this effort and are available at Gordy & Sons at the link below.
