Anglers have loved the G.Loomis NRX series of rods for some time, and now G.Loomis has announced their new NRX+ series of fly fishing rods. With models designed for freshwater, saltwater, and Spey, the new NRX+ has something for almost everyone.
Among features, G.Loomis is touting their new Dynamic Recovery Technology with an “all-new Mega Modulus+ graphite matrix and GL8 resin system.” This cuts down the weight of the rods by 15% from the former series of NRX rods.
Designed for a smoother cast, if these rods are as smooth as the former line was strong, these rods will be beloved right out of the gate. As G.Loomis states: “Rolled with our most advanced compound taper construction to date, NRX+ provides the power, line speed, and loop stability expected from modern fast-action rods, without compromising “feel” and finesse in the short game. This means, regardless of casting distance or difficulty, NRX+ empowers anglers with confidence-boosting control in less-than-ideal situations.”
The NRX+ rods will range from a 4 weight to a 12 weight plus Spey and switch models. They are fast action, and there is a medium-fast 9’5″ 5 weight. There are 20 individual rods in this family of rods. More details to come.
