A new trailer has dropped for a film short that highlights the events from the 2017 Ascension Bay Permit Tournament.
From the filmmaker:
“For the past three years, every April, a bunch of hungry fly-anglers travel from their respective homes down a dusty road to Punta Allen, a sleepy village in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula.
The reason might be to catch the most elusive fish out there- the Permit or Palometa, but in reality they come down to experience the unique vibe suffused in the town, the friendly smiles of the locals and most of all – to help the local kids gain a better education and facilities in their sleepy little Village.
Check out the Trailer to the film and get a feeling of why the tournament keeps happening and who the amiable people are that it helps so much.
The Film was kindly funded with the help of The S. Kent Rockwell Foundation, Patagonia Fly Fishing (Michael A. Thompson), The Fly Fishers, Frontiers Travel, Thomas and Thomas and Yellow Dog’s Yellow Dog Community and Conservation Foundation.”
