Video: Fly Fishing and Research for Steelhead in Russia with the Kamchatka Steelhead Project

The Kamchatka Steelhead Project from The Fly Shop on Vimeo.

The Kamchatka Steelhead Project is a special research project in Eastern Russia that allows for extraordinarily unique fly fishing for steelhead in the name of research. And unlike almost everywhere else in the world, these fish and this ecosystem are unspoiled by “progress.”

From The Fly Shop:

“Flowing across stark, dazzling tundra landscapes on Russia’s remote Kamchatka Peninsula, a handful of rivers are home to Asia’s only population of steelhead trout. A group of scientists and flyfishers follow their passions beyond the edge, in order to encounter, understand and protect this magnificent silver fish.”
