Film: On Salmon and Dams in Alaska in “The Super Salmon”

The Super Salmon from Ryan Peterson on Vimeo.

As many recall from DamNation, Alaska is going big on plans to dam the Susitna River — a move that would be catastrophic to salmon and one of the most important salmon runs in the world. This issue is examined in a new film from Ryan Peterson.

From Peterson:

“A salmon in Alaska makes an incredible journey on the Susitna River, as residents consider the cost/benefits of a massive government-proposed hydroelectric dam.

Produced and directed by Ryan Peterson, in partnership with SusitnaRiverCoalition.org, with support from Patagonia.com.”
