This is the time of the year that mid-Atlantic and Northeastern anglers are proudly displaying the bounty that swims their way. In Maryland, many anglers call their Bay striped bass, “rockfish.” Whatever you call them, these beasts bust bait and bend rods en masse right about now, and the reward for fly anglers is mighty. The photo above comes from Tyler Nonn and Tidewater Charters – a Maryland guide that loves chasing down these brutes on the Chesapeake.
Disclosure: Tidewater Charters is in a professional relationship with the Fly Fishing Guide Directory, LLC and the Venturing Angler. Though potentially benefiting from this relationship, we do not post what we do not believe to be true. To read more, click here.
