Salmon and steelhead had historic distribution on much of the California Coast. That history of abundance took place not too long ago, but in short time, numbers of fish and runs dwindled to nothing or near nothing in many places. The Searsville Dam near Stanford has been an ecological disaster for some time and has made steelhead on the San Franciscquito Creek nearly extinct. The water from the reservoir the dam creates waters golf courses and other unnecessary fields and property. It’s time to take down this dam.
