The Venturing Angler is proud to be supporting the 5th Annual Palometa Club Permit Tourney for 2017, and due to cancellations, there are still some spots left for this exciting and extraordinary fly fishing opportunity.

From the Palometa Club:

Grab a fishing partner/teammate and sign up now! Our annual Permit Tournament held each spring has raised over $22,000 in donations for BTT’s Jon Ain Memorial Fund. Our tournament is a laid back and super fun competition that is supported by numerous fly fishing industry sponsors including Patagonia, Hatch, Country Pleasures, Temple Fork Outfitters, Howler Brothers, Flood Tide, The Venturing Angler, Winston, Costa, Fishpond, Yeti,, and many more.

A special shout out to our headliner sponsors, Hatch Outdoors! All our sponsors donate duffel bags of clothing and gear to all tourney participants and to our guide staff – while Hatch steps up to the plate each year with a half dozen 7+ and 9+ Fanatic Reels for our winners. All sponsors provide loads of giveaways and swag adding to the fun.

Seven two-man teams compete in four competitive permit fishing days during the week, and an individual “biggest fish” category is in play all six days. Proceeds from the tournament and donations will benefit the Jon Ain Memorial Fund for the Bonefish Tarpon Trust as well as the schoolchildren of Punta Allen.

If you have questions or would like to sign up for the tourney, please contact David Leake:
