The Palometa Club in Ascension Bay, Mexico recently hosted their 3rd Annual Permit Tourney – an event that supports the Jon Ain Memorial Fund and the school children of Punta Allen, Mexico.

The Palometa Club is located in Punta Allen and enjoys perhaps the best permit fishing in the world as well as a strong connection to the community and a tight relationship with their phenomenal guide staff. The feel of the club is a laid back vibe within sight of world-famous flats, and these ingredients make for a great annual permit tournament.

The Annual Palometa Club Permit Tourney is a tournament that ought to fit any angler. The spirit of competition is friendly and relaxed, and only the angler’s recognition of what’s possible on those incredible flats is what brings pressure into the mix.

This year’s event took place from April 10-17 and included sponsors such as Patagonia, Tailwaters Fly Fishing Company, YETI, fishpond, Winston, Temple Fork, Hatch, Flood Tide Co., Umpqua, Smartshield, Country Pleasures Fly Shop, and The Fly Fishing Guide Directory/The Venturing Angler. These sponsorships translated to an enhanced event and great swag packages!

In addition, photographer Matt Jones (The Fly Photo) was on hand to photograph the event as well as make a great video.
