The Fly Fishing Guide Directory is now joining Patagonia, Costa, The Drake, and others in supporting the 2nd Annual Palometa Club Permit Tournament!
The laid back tournament comes with some pretty serious bragging rights for the winner (and all of the participants!), and the permit champ even gets a free return trip in 2015 to defend the prestigious title.
On behalf of our team at Tailwaters Fly Fishing Company in Dallas, the owners, guides, and staff at the Palometa Club in Punta Allen, Mexico, we are happy to formally announce the 2nd Annual Palometa Club Permit Tournament, April 4-11, 2014.
Ten two-man teams will compete in four competitive permit fishing days during the week, and an individual “biggest fish” category is in play all six days. Identical to last year’s tourney, proceeds from the tournament and donations will benefit the Jon Ain Memorial Fund for the Bonefish Tarpon Trust as well as the schoolchildren of Punta Allen. We are pleased to team up with Patagonia Clothing Company and Hatch Outdoors as presenting sponsors of the tournament.
In addition to competing anglers and guests of the Club, also in attendance will be several fly-fishing industry friends and partners. Matt Jones from The Fly Photo will be on hand in a chase boat documenting the trip and tournament. All participants and winners will earn sweet gifts donated by Patagonia and Hatch as well as additional sponsors like TFO, Yeti Coolers, Umpqua, The Drake, Costa del Mar, Smartshield and Fishpond. The winners of the permit tournament also win a gratis trip back to the Palometa Club to defend their title in 2015.
Join us at this festive week of fishing with a great group of anglers and friends – and a really good party!
